John Kyrle High School / Kisiki College Partnership
The Development of our link
The John Kyrle High School’s partnership with Kisiki College, Namutumba began after a visit to the school by Bishop Cyprian of Busoga Diocese, Uganda in 1993.Since then there has been annual reciprocal visits of staff and students between the two schools, curriculum links and the recycling of books and equipment to Uganda, thanks to a link with DHL Tewkesbury.
Donors in JKHS and the town of Ross-on-Wye have assisted Kisiki by helping them to build a library, a roof catchment water scheme, refurbishment of three laboratories, setting up a computer room with 25 computers and we are now in the process of building a Technology Block.

It has developed into a community link too with local Ross primary schools linking and assisting equivalents around Kisiki College; Ross Rotary building and equipping a women’s and children’s ward in the village Medical Unit and Ross Lions building a borehole. Also, several Ross churches have links with Namutumba churches.
“Spin-off” links include that of Bishop Stortford HS for Girls and Eden HS, Kampala; Monmouth School for Girls and Luala Girls School, Soroti, Heart of the Forest School, Coleford and Bukonte School, the University of Gloucestershire with Kaliro Training College and the University of Worcester with Busoga University.
